Eversheds Sutherland appoints three new Partners and seven Counsel in Germany - 22 new Partners worldwide

    Eversheds Sutherland has appointed 22 Partners worldwide, among them three Partners in Germany. With the appointment of Anthony Cross, Nils Müller and Dr. David Rieks, the partnership has enhanced its capacities with knowhow from the practice areas Corporate/M&A, Technology/Data Protection and Commercial Criminal Law/Compliance. In addition, the legal practice has appointed seven new Counsel in Germany. The appointments became effective as of the new financial year from 1 May 2021.

    These are the new Partners of Eversheds Sutherland Germany:

    Anthony Cross (Corporate/M&A, Munich) works in the area of Corporate/M&A. He focuses on advising international clients regarding strategic transactions, in particular inbound M&A transactions for foreign clients, outbound M&A transactions for German clients and technology transactions. He is registered as a lawyer in Germany and as a solicitor in England and has substantial experience on the German as well as English market. Legal 500 counts him among the "names of the next generation 2021" for M&A.

    Nils Müller (Data Protection, Munich) is a certified lawyer for IT law. He advises mainly tech companies and companies from the life sciences industry regarding all aspects of data protection law, in particular regarding employee data protection and within the framework of complex international projects. He furthermore specialises in legal questions associated with corporate digitalisation (in particular licencing and outsourcing agreements) and advising on technology transactions. Nils Müller regularly gives trainings for data protection officers, data controllers and employees in companies and is a visiting lecturer of Hamburg School of Business Administration. 

    Dr. David Rieks (Commercial Criminal Law, Hamburg) is a certified lawyer for criminal law and advises German and international companies regarding all questions of commercial and tax criminal law. He supports clients with respect to their internal reappraisal of compliance violations and leads and accompanies internal investigations. Furthermore, he represents and defends companies and corporate officers within the framework of criminal or administrative fines proceedings before investigation authorities and the courts. This year, WirtschaftsWoche has named Dr. David Rieks as a leading lawyer for commercial criminal law and Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers has recommended him for dispute resolution.

    Magdalena Anna Kotyrba (IP/Health & Life Sciences), Martin Sanftleben, Benjamin Schikora (both Corporate/M&A), Dr. Marie-Christin Englmann, Axel Listle (both Commercial Dispute Resolution), Stephanie Bäurle and Felix Römisch (both Employment and Labour Law) (all Munich) have been promoted to the position of Counsel.

    41% of the Partners appointed worldwide are women. In Eversheds Sutherland's US offices, the new Partners were already appointed on 1 January 2021.
