  • Germany

Eversheds Sutherland further expands its German practice and has now also added a new lawyer to its tax law practice. In January 2019, the experienced tax law expert Martina Sradj will join Eversheds Sutherland in Munich. Martina Sradj joins Eversheds Sutherland as a Partner from the Real I.S. Group, BayernLB's fund service provider specialising in real estate investments, where she had been head of the tax department since 2015. Martina Sradj, who has a degree in business economics, previously headed the tax department at Hannover Leasing and worked as a tax advisor for Ernst & Young.

She has many years of experience in the real estate sector as well as in the tax structuring of national and cross-border real estate transactions and financings. In her capacity as a tax advisor, Martina Sradj mainly specialises in financial services including asset managers, banks, insurances and capital investment companies. Her focus lies on the design and implementation of German and foreign regulated and unregulated capital investment products for institutional investors. Her activities further concentrate on group taxation and financing as well as on transactional tax law.

"Winning Martina Sradj, who is familiar with the internal workings of capital investment companies and asset managers, means real added value for our institutional clients", emphasises Dr. Stefan Diemer, head of the Tax practice. "At the same time, her comprehensive practical experience will expand our services for private equity investors and financial service providers. Her in-house experience specifically supports our high standards regarding bespoke and economically efficient tax law advice at the interface with regulatory and investment law as well as real estate law."

    Martina Sradj comments:

"In the area of real estate investments, Eversheds Sutherland has rapidly achieved a strong market position and I look forward to contributing to the further expansion of its services. I am impressed by the team's international positioning as well as its integrated service approach in terms of cooperation with other practice groups within the firm."

Dr. Matthias Heisse, Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland in Germany, adds:

„We are delighted to welcome Martina Sradj with her wealth of tax law experience, a perfect match for the strategic development of our international tax law services. Following the opening of our Luxembourg office in the last year and the new lawyers who joined our real estate and banking and finance practice groups, we continue to systematically expand the real estate investment services with Martina Sradj joining our team."

At Eversheds Sutherland, Martina Sradj joins a global tax practice of over 150 lawyers in 20 jurisdictions.
