Eversheds Sutherland announces the appointment of Ian Gray as Chairman of Eversheds Sutherland (Europe).  Ian, who will also continue in his role as Executive Partner (Client Strategy) of Eversheds Sutherland (International), was appointed Chair following a unanimous vote of the European Board.  His appointment takes effect from 1 November 2017.

Ian succeeds Alan Murphy, who has been appointed Deputy Chairman as well as continuing in his role as Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland Ireland.

Lee Ranson, Co-CEO of Eversheds Sutherland, commented,

“As Chairman of Europe, Ian will play a crucial role in driving forward our strategy in Europe which is a key area of focus for us in terms of investment and expansion.  Ian is a natural choice for this role, having been heavily involved in developing our European business in the last two years, sitting on the Board of Eversheds Sutherland (Europe) as well as chairing our German management committee.”

Ian Gray, Chairman (Europe) and Executive Partner (Eversheds Sutherland International), added,

“I am delighted to take on this role which comes at a pivotal moment in the development of our global platform. Building on the momentum of our recent expansion in Germany, Luxembourg and Russia, I look forward to leading our European team in the delivery of our strategy.”

Alan Murphy, Deputy Chairman (Europe) and Managing Partner (Eversheds Sutherland Ireland), said,

“Having completed my term as Chair I am delighted to hand the baton to Ian, and look forward to working with him to advance our European strategy. Europe is a key part of the Eversheds Sutherland network and I am pleased to continue to support its development as Deputy Chairman.”
