Bilateral agreements in relation to UK hauliers sought by the UK
- Ireland
- General
03-10-2018
The UK Government has said that it will seek to strike a bilateral agreement with EU Member States to ensure hauliers retain access to EU Member States post Brexit, but that UK hauliers will be able to use European Conference of Ministers Transport (ECMT) permits if there is no deal. ECMT permits, however, are limited in number. In its latest technical note the UK Government has advised hauliers to consider what contingency plans they need to have in place for the movement of goods if they do not receive the number of permits applied for. This may include planning for alternative routes.
