The next 10 months will be crucial for Brexit.
The UK is aiming to have agreement on a transition period by March 2018, and to sign off on a “divorce” agreement and an outline of future trading ties by October 2018, giving each EU Member State time to give approval before the UK leaves the EU on 31 March 2019. There is, however, still a lack of clarity on significant issues. For example, how the UK will reconcile its resolve to leave the single market with its commitment to avoiding a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.
