Common travel area between Ireland and the UK
- Ireland
- General
13-07-2018
The Tánaiste has reportedly stated that a number of government departments are working on policy and legal decisions to ensure that the common travel area between Ireland and the UK remains after Brexit. The arrangement allows Irish citizens to move freely to live, work and study on the same basis as a UK citizen in the UK, and vice versa. It allows access to employment, healthcare, education, social benefits and the right to vote in certain elections.
