Coronavirus – Weekly Pensions Clinic for Clients - Ireland

  • Ireland
  • General

Coronavirus restrictions are causing significant ongoing disruption and difficulties for employers, pension trustees, administrators and providers. To assist our clients during these unprecedented times, we are introducing a weekly pensions clinic. The pensions clinic will give clients a forum in which they can discuss any Coronavirus related queries or concerns directly with one of our team, and get an initial legal or market view on them, without obligation or fees.

Some of the legal and regulatory issues clients have been grappling with include:

  • Requests for contribution suspensions or deferrals by employers
  • Assessing the impact of the Wage Subsidy Scheme, temporary pay cuts and layoffs on pension and death in service benefits
  • Ability to hold trustee meetings by video conference or teleconference
  • Implications for the tax residence of schemes of trustees being located overseas
  • Transfer payment requests
  • Ability to issue scheme member communications in paper form
  • Ability to execute trust deeds and other trust documentation and ability to comply with regulatory obligations more generally

Our Pension Clinic will run from 9.00am to 10.00am every Wednesday while lockdown conditions continue, commencing next Wednesday 29 April 2020. All discussions will be strictly confidential. To book your appointment, please contact Adrienne Burke.

We look forward to talking to you.

Note: You can book your timeslot as either a Zoom video conference or a telephone call, depending on your preference. Each timeslot will be for 15 minutes in duration.
