  • Ireland
  • General

The first full round of talks to extricate Britain from the EU ended on 20 July 2017.  It has been reported in the media that the free movement of European Union Citizens to Britain will continue for at least two years after Brexit as part of proposed transitional arrangements.  It has also been reported that UK Finance Minister Philip Hammond has been pushing for a transitional period to reassure businesses. Some reports suggest that the proposed transitional period could last for up to four years.
