About the Speakers:

Agris Bitāns, Senior Partner, Eversheds Sutherland Bitans Agris heads the Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns Litigation and Dispute resolution practice group. With more than 24 years of legal experience, Agris is a widely recognised and acclaimed litigator in Latvia. His main focus on is civil and commercial litigation, civil liability including liability for non-pecuniary loss, intellectual property, contract disputes, criminal litigation, mainly in relation to white-collar crime and fraud. Agris’s practice areas also include e-commerce, patent rights, mass media, advertising and PPP projects. Agris is a member of the Latvian Bar Association and International Bar Association. He is also a member of AIPPI and has served as the President of the Latvian AIPPI group since 2005. In addition to his work at the law firm, Agris is a lector at the University of Latvia in the Faculty of Law.

Thomas Marcadet, Senior Vice President, Head of FINPRO & PEMA Marsh specialty in CEE &Eastern Mediterranean

Thomas is the Financial Lines Practice Leader for Central Eastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean Region since 2017. Thomas took this new role after 6 years of experience in France focusing on large Financial Institutions and Private Equity. Before joining Marsh, Thomas worked in 2nd largest retail banking group in France (BPCE) in Internal audit and held various positions in investment banks.
