Business immigration: new quota for the UK in 2021

  • Switzerland

The Swiss economy should be able to recruit the skilled workers it needs in 2021. For this purpose, on 25 November 2020, the Federal Council approved the partial revision of the Ordinance on Admission, Residence and Employment (OASA). Pursuant to this revision, the quotas for workers from third countries and service providers from the EU/EFTA will remain unchanged at the 2020 level. Since the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons between Switzerland and the United Kingdom will no longer apply from 1 January 2021, the Federal Council has also temporarily set a separate quota for 2021 for working UK citizens.
