Legal News: Canton Geneva raises the minimum wage
- Switzerland
28-10-2022
Starting from 1 January 2023, the minimum wage in Geneva will be increased to CHF 24 per hour (current minimum wage: CHF 23.27 per hour). The increase was announced by the State Council in October and is based on the Geneva consumer price index for August. In the agriculture and floriculture sectors, the amount will rise from CHF 17.10 to CHF 17.64.
The new minimum monthly wage for 42 hours of work per week will therefore be CHF 4'368. This is the highest minimum wage in the world.
