Eversheds is proud to announce that Alexander Niethammer, a partner in the firm’s Munich office, has been named by the International Law Office (ILO) as the exclusive recipient of the prestigious “Client Choice Award” as Germany’s best IT & Internet counsel.

Alexander leads a team of IT and IP lawyers who help clients with contracting, regulatory, litigation, and transactional matters. His practice focuses on technology transfers, IT outsourcing, e-commerce and data protection, in addition to litigation & dispute management. Clients include H.J. Heinz in BPO, Philip Morris, Cisco, Honda, Iron Mountain and NTT Data.

Established in 2005, the Client Choice awards recognize partners around the world that stand apart for their excellent client service. Uniquely, these awards survey in-house senior corporate counsel only, inquiring about quality of legal advice, value delivered, commercial awareness, and effective communication.

Matthias Heisse, managing partner of Eversheds Germany, commented:

“I am delighted that clients have recognised the quality of our expanding offering in Germany. This award is testament to our firm-wide culture of embedding excellence in our sector-focused services. To be acknowledged by clients is a great compliment, and demonstrates the trust and confidence our clients have in both Alexander and his team.”

    Alexander added:

“The technology sector and the ongoing digital transformation is a vibrant industrial arena in which to practise as a lawyer. I am pleased that my team has been recognised for the innovative support we can provide to our clients’ needs and I‘d like to thank my clients whom I have had the honour to partner with.”

The in-house counsels who participated in the survey praised Alexander for his “outstanding skills for finding useful solutions - not only from a legal point of view, but also from a commercial one”. They recognize him for providing “strategic yet pragmatic advice on how to structure multi-jurisdictional projects”. He was also highly regarded for his “excellent understanding of the challenges of an in-house counsel, such as budget, cost transparency, delivery times, quality and short and precise communication”.
