Eversheds Sutherland has today (5 November 2018) rolled out its global innovation platform, IdeaDrop, the first legal practice to adopt IdeaDrop on a global scale.

IdeaDrop is an innovative crowdsourcing mobile and web App developed for organizations to capture and curate ideas from employees. After an initial pilot project, launched in June 2018 at the Partner Conference in New York, all staff are now being on-boarded onto the platform. Everyone across Eversheds Sutherland’s 66 offices in 32 countries is encouraged to connect with colleagues around the world to contribute ideas, debate and find solutions to problems, broadening the innovation pipeline source.

Similar to other social media platforms, Idea Drop allows users to ‘drop an idea’ which other users can comment on, share, like and rate. Users can also ‘drop a challenge’ when there is a specific need or issue which would benefit from a crowdsourced solution. Ideas are monitored to ensure the best ones are captured and actioned.

    Lee Ranson, Co-CEO, commented:

“Innovation has always been an integral part of our business and we have a long-standing and strong reputation in this area. As our scale and reach grows we want to continue to drive innovation across the business globally, harnessing the creativity of our people to help deliver our strategy. The beauty of Idea Drop is its simplicity and inclusivity – it allows everyone to be a part of making change happen, regardless of their role or geographical location.”

    Mark Wasserman, Co-CEO, commented:

“Developing, sharing and implementing ideas across geographies and practice areas fosters a strong common culture which is a key pillar of our 2020 strategy. Most importantly, the innovations produced through Idea Drop will enable us to deliver better, more efficient service to our clients. Ultimately, we intend to use Idea Drop together with clients, providing another way we can work together on innovative ways to deliver our services with the value and quality needed in today’s global economy.”
