Eversheds has advised Novatio Capital trading as The Renewable Financing Company (Novatio) and The Pensions Infrastructure Platform (PiP) on the refinancing of a portfolio of operating solar PV rooftop assets, operated by Foresight Group in the UK.

The refinancing reached financial close in December 2016.

Led by partner Conrad Purcell, the Eversheds team, which comprised partner Geraint Pullin Thomas and Senior Associate James Shawe (real estate) and Associate Jian Liang Lim, Carolyn Sullivan and Laura Boca (finance), provided specialist legal advice on all aspects of the refinancing.

The loans were arranged by Novatio, proceeds of which were used for the refinancing of construction and development costs incurred in connection with the development of the portfolio.

Conrad Purcell, partner at Eversheds, said: “We are very pleased to have worked with Novatio and PiP on this transaction. This refinancing was one of a series of similar transactions which Novatio and PiP have been involved in and we see this as continuing evidence of the successful model that they have been instrumental in bringing to the market.”
