Eversheds Sutherland has acted for longstanding client Harworth Group plc on its strategic acquisition of the former Ironbridge Power Station site in Telford, Shropshire.
The global legal practice provided real estate, employment and environmental advice on the acquisition, which supports Harworth Group’s strategic priority to expand its presence in the Midlands and become the UK’s leading regeneration company.
Harworth intends to develop the major regeneration site, which comprises around 350 gross acres of brownfield and agricultural land, into a mixed-use development with several hundred new homes, commercial buildings, leisure facilities and public space.
The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by real estate Partner Natalie Edwards with support from Senior Legal Manager Tracy Adams. Employment advice was provided by Partner David Beswick and Associate Priyesh Dave with Legal Director Jane Southworth and Senior Associate Catherine Manning also supporting on environmental issues.
Partner Natalie Edwards commented:
“We are delighted to advise Harworth Group on the complex acquisition of the Ironbridge Power Station site. With the firm’s knowledge and expertise in development and major regeneration work, we look forward to continuing to support Harworth as it demonstrates its ongoing strategy to become the UK's leading regeneration company.”
