Eversheds Sutherland has been appointed by Turkish Airlines as sole global legal provider

The partnership is due to last for an initial three-year period and will cover all of the airline’s day-to-day legal needs across its extensive flight network of 116 countries. Previously Turkish Airlines used a range of 120 law firms. Stephen Hopkins, Head of Global Client Development, will lead a team of lawyers across the world working together seamlessly through an extensive network of relationship firms.

Turkish Airlines has consistently and successfully looked for new ways of running its operation smoothly and efficiently, making travel easy, enjoyable and affordable for all of its passengers. This latest move demonstrates yet another forward thinking idea from the business which will help it achieve cost certainty, greater transparency, consistent billing practices and performance measurement which will in turn increase operational efficiency.

Ali Uysal, Turkish Airlines, Chief Legal Counsel, said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with Eversheds Sutherland. I am confident that they will not only provide efficiency and cost certainty, but will be key to helping us address any business challenges we may face. Making the decision to move from over 120 firms to just one was a big step for us and we truly believe that this approach will bring real benefit to our business and importantly, to our customers.”

    Stephen Hopkins, commented:

“Our partnership with Turkish Airlines is a long-term, strategic relationship. We are excited to have been given the opportunity to work more closely with the airline to help achieve their strategic goals.”
