Eversheds adds partner to Human Resources Practice Group

    Law firm Eversheds has appointed lateral hire Matthew Kelly as an employment Partner in the firm’s education employment team. He joins the firm from Thomas Eggar.

    Matthew advises a wide range of Further Education Colleges, Higher Education institutions and Academies on employment and governance issues.

    He has considerable experience in providing advice on a full range of employment law issues, including: advising on strategic issues affecting institutions (collective redundancies, reorganisations, mergers and joint ventures); handling complex multi-day Employment Tribunal claims for a number of educational institutions; dealing with complex issues in relation to the Statutes and Ordinances of Universities and the Instrument and Articles of Government of Further Education Colleges; as well as general day to day advisory work.

    Matthew participates in the delivery of bespoke training to a large number of clients. He is also a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association.

    Commenting on his appointment, Matthew said:
