Eversheds Sutherland has advised NYSE and EN-Paris listed and longstanding client, TechnipFMC, on its acquisition of the outstanding shares of Magma Global (Magma).
A cross-practice team from Eversheds Sutherland’s Global Energy Group advised TechnipFMC throughout the acquisition, which will accelerate the development of new composite and flexible pipe solutions for the traditional and new energy industries.
TechnipFMC acquired an interest in Magma in 2018, and the acquisition of the remaining shares sees both companies join together in their commitment and ambition to bring innovative and disruptive solutions to market.
TechnipFMC is a leading technology provider to the traditional and new energy industries, delivering fully integrated products, projects, and services. Magma is a leading manufacturer of composite pipe technology, providing crucial resources in support of the energy transition. Its pipe products are a critical enabler for pre-salt fields and both the carbon capture, utilization and storage, and hydrogen transportation markets.
The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by corporate Partner, Jubilee Easo, supported by: Partners Principal Associates Chris Archer (corporate), Ryan Gawrych (corporate), Lisa Highet (commercial), Vanessa Challenger (employment), Senior Associate Jessica Saffell (employment) and Associate Amy Coombes (corporate).
Jubilee Easo, Partner, Global Energy at Eversheds Sutherland, commented:
“We’re thrilled to have successfully advised on and completed yet another complex and strategically noteworthy deal for TechnipFMC. This acquisition sees two companies at the forefront of composite pipe technology, pool their expertise and resource, creating an exciting proposition to meet the ongoing challenges related to the energy transition. We couldn’t be happier for TechnipFMC and look forward to continuing to support the team on future opportunities.”
