    Eversheds Sutherland announces 90% NQ trainee retention for 2021

    Eversheds Sutherland (International) is pleased to announce a 90% retention rate of its 2021 newly-qualified (NQ) cohort, offering 45 trainees roles within its legal practice.

    The NQ cohort will be based across the firm’s UK and Hong Kong offices, filling roles in its Company Commercial, Litigation & Dispute Management, Real Estate, and Employment, Labor and Pensions Practice Groups.

    In total, the firm’s UK autumn 2021 cohort comprises 59% female trainees and 17% Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic.

    Eversheds Sutherland also secured a further 34 NQ associates, via external recruitment, to fill outstanding roles across the firm’s UK offices.

    With 79 of 83 total roles now filled, the firm has four outstanding seats in its Commercial, Real Estate and CDR teams across London, Leeds, Birmingham and Cardiff.

    “We would like to extend a huge congratulations to all of our 2021 trainee cohort, of which we’ll be welcoming many as newly-qualified associates in September. We are delighted this year to have confirmed 79 lawyers across our practice groups in the UK and Hong Kong, and would also like to welcome those who will be joining from outside of the firm.

    “Despite the disruption caused by Covid-19, our people have shown great resilience, with the need for external recruitment testament to the growth of the firm. We remain committed to retaining and sourcing the best junior talent in the legal market.”

    Eversheds Sutherland (International) reported a 2020 trainee retention rate of 86%.
