    Eversheds Sutherland has been named ‘winner’ in several of the deal categories at the M&A Advisor’s annual EMEA Corporate Development Awards.

    The Awards recognise and celebrate the leading corporations, transactions, teams and professionals – including the financial, legal and consulting team members – who played a key role in successful corporate development across the regions.

    An independent judging panel of industry experts evaluated nominations representing more than 250 individual companies from across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

    Eversheds Sutherland (international) M&A team won awards in five categories, including:

    • Transaction of the Year (over £25mm - £50mm): Sale of Starbucks Coffee Deutschland Ltd. & Co. KG
    • Transaction of the Year (over £50mm - £100mm): Sale of five Empire Cinemas to Cineworld by Empire Cinemas
    • Transaction of the Year (over £100mm - £500mm): Divesture of the GLID wind farms in the UK by Centrica and EIG Global Energy Partners to the consortium of Green Investment Bank and BlackRock
    • Transaction of the Year (over £500mm - £1bn): Joint venture of SEGRO plc and Roxhill Development Group on a portfolio of big box logistics warehouse development sites
    • Transaction of the Year (over £1bn): Public takeover of Chemtura by LANXESS AG
    • The team was also presented with the Founders Award in recognition of its deep cross-border transactional practice, its innovative approach taken to deal processing and its strong team approach to project management.
