Eversheds Sutherland’s Michelle T Davies named as top lawyer in the global wind sector

    10-03-2017

The Women’s Power List is in honour of International Women’s Day and is compiled by A Word About Wind, a specialist renewable energy intelligence service that aims to deliver regular industry insight. Michelle is the only lawyer to be named in the top 50 where she is noted alongside prevalent CFO’s, Directors and others.

The report is produced in partnership with renewable energy finance specialist Green Giraffe and celebrates the contribution of women to the continued growth and success of the wind industry around the world. This is an important industry recognition, given that women hold only 14% of senior management roles in the world’s largest utilities and only 16% of board roles, according to Ernst & Young.

Michelle T Davies has advised the renewable energy sector at Eversheds Sutherland since 2002 and, as partner, she leads a clean energy team that has advised on a host of large offshore wind farms and numerous onshore wind projects, as well as 40GW of renewable energy projects globally. Her focus now is advising developers and investors on clean energy projects in growth markets.

Michelle T Davies, clean energy team lead at Eversheds Sutherland says:

“This is a well-respected industry accolade and it is an honour to be recognised amongst women who have contributed significantly to the sector.

"I appreciate that there are some who question the need for these women only lists but without them we would not have the same visibility. It must have been a huge task for Word about Wind but I congratulate their efforts particularly for profiling many women in the earlier stages of their careers."

Michelle and fellow partner, Indraj Mangat, were also highly ranked in A Word About Wind’s annual global power list.
