Eversheds Sutherland advises Brady Corporation on acquisition of Magicard Limited

Eversheds Sutherland has advised longstanding client, US-based Brady Corporation (Brady), on its acquisition of UK-based Magicard Limited (Magicard) in a cash transaction.

Brady is an international manufacturer and marketer of complete solutions that identify and protect people, products and places. The Company has a diverse customer base in electronics, telecommunications, manufacturing, electrical, construction, medical, aerospace and is a leader in high-performance niche application industrial printers and materials.

Magicard is a pioneer of ID card printing technologies with a full range of desktop devices to meet a wide variety of local, on-demand, secure ID card issuance requirements. In addition to card printers, Magicard offers TrustID desktop ID card issuance software and Securicards smart cards.

The acquisition of Magicard adds rigid card printing and encoding capabilities to Brady’s extensive printer offering.

The Eversheds Sutherland team provided advice on all key aspects of the acquisition and was led by corporate Partner, Antony Walsh, assisted by corporate Principal Associate Chris Archer.

Excluding one time acquisition-related costs, Brady expects this acquisition to be slightly accretive to earnings per diluted share for the remainder of the fiscal year ending July 31, 2021.

    Antony Walsh, Eversheds Sutherland, said:

“We’re thrilled to have successfully advised on and completed yet another strategically noteworthy deal for Brady. This is an exciting investment for the company and another commercial milestone that we’re pleased to have been part of. We look forward to continuing to support the team on future opportunities.”
