Global law firm Eversheds has advised the University of Gloucestershire on entering in to a joint venture with INTO University Partnerships which will offer international students a wide range of university-validated preparation programmes leading to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

INTO University Partnerships joins up with universities in the UK, North America and China to deliver a public/private initiative which allows students from outside the UK who need to raise their English language proficiency, or pathways students, to take courses to hone their study skills before embarking on undergraduate or postgraduate studies.

The University of Gloucestershire will benefit from INTO‘s global recruitment network with 31 offices across 17 countries around the world which will promote the University’s entire range of degrees to a global audience.

The Eversheds team, led by partner Glynne Stanfield and supported by associate Craig Luton, advised the University on the corporate and commercial aspects of entering into the joint venture.

    Glynne said:

“The INTO programme is innovative and will, in the long run, help the University with its international student recruitment. Both the University and INTO have similar values when it comes to service delivery for students, and so we have no doubt that this joint venture will serve both parties well. We were delighted to be able to work closely with such a long established client and help to establish an important project that is central to the University’s future development.”

Stephen Marston, Vice Chancellor at the University of Gloucestershire, said:

“We are delighted to be establishing this partnership with INTO. The joint venture is a great opportunity for the University. It will enable us to achieve our strategic goal of expanding our student numbers in a way that capitalises on the University’s strengths in excellent teaching, the wider student experience we offer, and our attractive location. We are grateful to Eversheds for their strategic and legal input that helped to shape this partnership and ensured a seamless process from start to finish”
