Eversheds comment: London must have space to compete in international real estate market

Commenting on news that London planners are moving to expand the City's skyscraper cluster, Stuart Andrews, partner and planning expert at Eversheds, says:

“The City of London is a major economic driver for the UK and it must have the space to compete in what is a furiously hard-fought international real estate market. This won’t be the last time we prepare for further expansion of the city's skyscraper cluster either. Indeed, it isn’t too difficult to envisage a future with a crescent of towers around the square mile. Ultimately, the art as always, lies in preserving and enhancing important heritage assets and public spaces alongside new buildings, something the City is thankfully extremely adept at."
