Eversheds comment: UK plc quicker to embrace diversity
- United Kingdom
20-11-2014
Commenting on a study which indicates that the UK’s biggest firms have four times more foreign directors than their US counterparts and that female representation on boards is also growing, Aleen Gulvanessian, partner and corporate governance expert at law firm Eversheds, says:
"It is obviously encouraging to see progress on female representation at board level but the real story here is that diversity in the broader sense is being embraced. Growing foreign representation on UK boards shows that we understand that UK growth depends on global expansion. What's more, UK businesses increasingly see themselves as operating in a global marketplace."
