Eversheds comment: More consistent decision making required over shale licensing
- United Kingdom
07-07-2014
Commenting on news that the new oil and gas regulator created for the UK North Sea will also have powers over onshore activities, including shale gas, Stuart Andrews, partner at law firm Eversheds, says:
"There must be far greater opportunity for consistency of decision making under these proposed arrangements. We also need to see improved prospects that local politics and unsubstantiated local concerns can be regulated and controlled in support of a far more effective licensing process."
