Eversheds Sutherland invests in banking and finance team with new partner hire

    Eversheds Sutherland (International) has strengthened its banking and finance team in Mauritius with the appointment of partner Jean-Francois Boisvenu.

    Jean-Francois was admitted to the Quebec (Canada) Bar in 1996 and his practice areas include banking, finance and commercial law. He is notably experienced in international banking transactions and financial institution regulation.

    Jean-Francois joins the firm from AfrAsia Bank Limited, where he established and led the legal department. Prior to this, he was a partner at McCarthy Tetrault in Canada, and then worked for BLC Chambers as a senior consultant when he moved to Mauritius in 2009. He is a fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors.

    Eversheds Sutherland advises clients in every African jurisdiction and is linked to law firms across the continent via the Eversheds Africa Law Institute (EALI), covering over 35 countries. As well as its Mauritius office, the firm has offices in Durban and Johannesburg in South Africa and in Tunis, Tunisia.
