Eversheds Sutherland advises on Force India Formula One Team administration
Eversheds Sutherland has acted for Brockstone Limited on its successful application to the High Court for the appointment of the administrators to Force India Formula One Team Limited.
Brockstone Limited, the services company representing Force India driver, Sergio Pérez, made the administration application in order to protect the jobs of 400 employees. The administration will also ensure a stable platform to find a buyer for the Silverstone-based team.
The team at Eversheds Sutherland was led by restructuring Partner Jamie Leader with support from Principal Associate Camilla Eliott Lockhart. The global legal practice will now advise administrators Geoff Rowley and Jason Baker of FRP Advisory on the administration of Force India.
Jamie Leader commented:
“I am delighted that our application to the High Court for the administration of Force India was successful, putting the team under the control of experienced insolvency
practitioners and enabling the team to continue operating and saving the jobs of more than 400 employees. I look forward to working with the administrators as they stabilise the business and find a new buyer to ensure the continued success of the team.”
Julian Jakobi, agent for Sergio Pérez, commented:
“We appreciate the knowledge, expertise and time sensitivity of Eversheds Sutherland in what has been a difficult time for Brockstone and the Force India Formula One Team.”
