Further expansion for the German team with significant lateral partner hire
Eversheds Sutherland announces the launch of its first office in Frankfurt with the lateral hire of corporate and M&A partner Dr Steffen Schniepp who joins from PwC’s Legal practice. Steffen Schniepp was Managing Partner, PwC Legal Germany and led the firm’s global M&A practice.
He will start as the firm’s first partner in the new Frankfurt office which will open in January 2023. Other partners who will join the Frankfurt office team to broaden our service offering will be announced soon.
With a range of DAX-listed corporates and large PE houses as clients, Dr Schniepp advises on complex, cross-border M&A and divestments across a number of key industries including health and life sciences, industrials including automotive and chemicals, and the TMT sector.
At Eversheds Sutherland, Dr Schniepp will work in collaboration with colleagues across the firm’s German offices in Munich, Dusseldorf, Berlin and Hamburg, and with its wider European offices for clients who require multi-disciplinary advice from the firm’s full-service team in Germany.
Helen Thomas, European Managing Partner, Eversheds Sutherland (International) commented:
“Establishing a presence in Frankfurt realises a long standing ambition for the firm and for our team in Germany. Our goal in Frankfurt is to build the practice through exceptional quality hires and by developing our highly talented lawyer pipeline. Steffen brings with him an outstanding reputation for client service excellence, and is committed to working closely with clients to better understand and support the strategic growth and expansion of their businesses. His arrival cements our determination to build on our collective ambition for Europe, and to identify new opportunities for both the firm and our clients.”
Alexander Niethammer, Managing Partner, Eversheds Sutherland Germany commented:
“As an ambitious lawyer with an impressive track record in client relationship development, winning quality mandates and strong financial acumen, Steffen will be able to deliver rapid growth to develop our newest office. As a law firm with a strong global network, we are able to provide Steffen with the resources to help his clients with their outbound ambitions, particularly into the UK and the US. Steffen is a very significant hire for our practice and we are delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
