Apprenticeships - potential pitfalls and how to avoid them
Who should attend
This short training course is relevant to HR, learning and development and recruitment professionals who are responsible for attracting, recruiting and developing the right talent into apprenticeship schemes. It will also be beneficial for those who manage apprentices in the UK or who may be thinking about taking on apprentices for the first time. In-house employment lawyers may also find it useful.
Synopsis
If you’ve taken on apprentices, or are about to, this course will equip you with the knowledge and help you navigate the sometimes complex world of apprenticeships, and highlight some potential issues and pitfalls to avoid.
Apprentices can provide immediate and relevant skills to your organisation and can also up-skill existing employees to help ease skills gaps in the longer-term. The theme of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week (6-12 February) is “Skills for Life”. In this short course, we aim to help you enhance your talent pipeline in England and the other home nations by equipping you with the knowledge you need to ensure you employ your apprentice on the right terms, know how to manage things when they go wrong and deal with the end of the apprenticeship in the right way.
