Bereavement, grief and work: support and adjustment

Who should attend

This bereavement, grief and work training course is aimed at HR professionals and managers and supervisors, as well as organisation leaders concerned about how their organisation responds to bereaved colleagues.

“Take as long as you need...”. There is lots of evidence of good practice in the handling of bereavement in the workplace. Work can be therapeutic or a final straw. Every case is different. Length of service, seniority, past record, and the empathy level and influence of a line manager often affect an organisation’s response. So, too, do the circumstances of the death, raising questions about consistency of treatment.

The aim of these workshops is to give HR professionals and managers a space to share their experience and approaches, with a bereavement specialist, against the backdrop of legal responsibilities and a new statutory right to bereavement leave for some parents.
