Synopsis

Post freedom of movement, it is even more important for UK-based employers, who cannot meet their staff needs from the local workforce, to obtain and maintain a sponsor licence to support non-EEA recruitment. This is an essential course for HR and recruitment professionals with Tier 2 or Tier 5 responsibilities. Knowledge of the points-based system is assumed.

  • Tier 2 sponsor licence: obtaining/renewing your licence and key personnel requirements
  • Tier 2 intra-company transfers: your subcategories and applicable thresholds
  • Tier 2 general: relevant criteria and conducting a resident labour market test
  • Tier 4: employing students and recent graduates
  • Tier 5: internships, government authorised exchange and an outline of sector-specific routes
  • sponsor compliance: obligations, difficulties and risks
  • Home Office audits: what to expect and how to respond
  • recent and forthcoming changes to legislation and policy including Brexit implications
  • GDPR implications of right to work checks

This course does not cover illegal working and right to work checks or immigration categories which sit outside of the point-based system.
