FE College Leaders Workshops ONS reclassification of Colleges
Who should attend
The event is aimed at Chair, Principal and/or Director of Governance audience.
Synopsis
You will no doubt be aware that the Office for National Statistics (ONS) confirmed the reclassification further education colleges in England into the public sector. At the same time, the Department for Education issued some initial guidance as to how colleges will need to approach their operations in the future.
What may appear to be a technical accounting change will, very likely, have substantial implications for the way in which colleges are governed, financed, and operate. The ONS decision is, fundamentally, about the level of control which Government exercises over colleges.
We are working with MH&A colleagues to help colleges understand and address the full implications of reclassification. MH&A is a specialist consulting firm with expertise in the further education sector.
We would be delighted if you could join one of our regional workshops - through which we’ll offer our latest advice and help colleagues determine what you need to do in response to reclassification.
