Immigration UK Business – sponsor licencing course
Who should attend
This course is aimed at those within organisations who have responsibility for immigration issues. It is suitable for HR, global mobility and legal professionals who oversee this, operate the Sponsor Management System or who intend to do so in future. The modules do not presume prior knowledge of immigration law.
Synopsis
Following the end of freedom of movement and major changes to the UK points based immigration system, businesses are increasingly looking to sponsor individuals to fulfil roles in the UK and those with sponsor licences need to be up to date in terms of the obligations and duties that sponsorship entails.
This is a modular immigration training course which we will offer throughout 2023. Over two modules, our team advises of the strategic and practical issues that HR professionals need to consider when sponsoring employees within the new immigration system.
Experienced lawyers from our UK immigration team will conduct modules which explain how to operate a sponsor licence effectively. With use of law, policy guidance and insights from practice, they will help you get up-to-speed with the new requirements and advise about how to manage UK immigration effectively.
Programme
Our first module will look at an overview of the points based immigration system in the UK, the Key personnel and responsibilities for managing the licence, what the sponsor obligations and duties are that sponsors need to comply with and how to comply with these duties including practical issues and considerations.
In the following module, we will look at operating the Sponsor Management System in practice including assessing eligibility for sponsorship including skill and salary level and compliance when issuing Certificates of Sponsorship.
Both modules will be supported by observations from our trainers as to how these issues have been managed in practice, with breakout sessions intended for practitioners to share experiences and suggestions. There will be adequate time for questions within each session
