The challenges of building a successful compliance team
Who should attend
Compliance professionals
Synopsis
Financial regulation continues to present major challenges and opportunities.
The past few years have seen considerable change and development in the global regulatory and compliance landscapes. These have had a significant impact on institutions across the world. The effects have been most felt by our financial services clients. Regulators have become increasingly global in their approach. This, combined with a focus on ‘culture’ and ‘doing the right thing’ means the task of meeting regulatory expectations is increasingly complex. Financial institutions have needed to build, strengthen and re-shape their compliance functions to cope with this significant increase in regulatory and compliance activity.
Hosted by Eversheds’ financial services compliance team, this event will provide a unique and valuable insight into the challenges of recruiting and retaining high performing compliance teams. You will hear about the experiences of our speakers, along with having the opportunity to network with your peers facing the same challenges.
We are delighted to be joined by two great speakers for this event. David Bagley, Director of Regulatory Risk, Fraud and AML at the Co-op Bank and, previously, Head of Compliance at HSBC, who will discuss his own experiences within this area. Paul Kersey was, until recently Vice President of Talent for Liberty Global. He will discuss his experience in talent management and employee engagement and the role that this plays in retaining high quality professionals.
