Indian employment law training

Who should attend

This Indian employment law training course is relevant to international HR managers and directors who have responsibility for employees in India. It will also be useful to managers and directors who anticipate entering the Indian market and who need to be aware of their responsibilities to their people.

Synopsis

This introductory course will provide a legislative overview, highlighting key areas and giving you practical insights through a case study approach. Led by two Indian employment lawyers, the course is designed to help HR professionals who need to work within the legal system and develop the correct approaches to manage their staff in India.

If your organisation is, or is likely to, set up operations in India then you must ensure that you have an understanding of key Indian employment law as well as information on employment conditions and procedures.

Programme

Please note that this course programme will run over two mornings (2 x 3 hour course sessions). Day 1 will take place on 5 December 2023 and Day 2 will take place on 7 December 2023.

DAY 1

DAY 2

Day-to-day employee management

  • discrimination and harassment protection
  • managing under-performance
  • restrictive covenants

Termination of employment

  • reasonable cause requirements
  • individual terminations
  • collective terminations/RIF exercises/closures
  • dismissal for misconduct
  • resignations

Disputes and Developments

  • common claims and process
  • proposed Labour Codes – key takeaways

Please note that a comfort break will be provided approximately half-way through each course.
