Who should attend

Academy Trusts are under intense scrutiny from regulators in terms of their legal and governance compliance, and it is vital that Trusts understand the legal framework in which they are operating and how good governance should operate within that framework.

Synopsis

This refresher session is primarily aimed at those within Trusts who lead on governance matters, but will also be of interest to those who lead on operational issues and to trustees/governors who wish to understand their role within the Trust.

The webinar will cover:

  • an explanation of the multi academy trust legal framework, both from a company and charity law perspective
  • a review of some of the key roles within a multi academy trust and the relationship between them; members, trustees, local governors, chair, committees
  • we will also look at the relationship between the board of trustees and the senior leadership team
  • an exploration of some key issues contained with the Academies Trust Handbook by reference to issues that we see in practice
