Education webinar - HR essentials – managing difficult HR matters with confidence
Who should attend
Line managers in the education sector can often lack the confidence to manage difficult people issues.
Synopsis
This session looks at how to achieve effective outcomes; avoid disproportionate time, process and resources; and protect the institution’s (and your) reputation. Whilst at the same time balancing this against the potential costs of losing an employment claim, any adverse publicity and the time and consequences of following a risk averse process
Using examples taken from our extensive experience of advising institutions and sector bodies on HR matters, the session considers the complex issues that can arise in connection with managing conduct, performance, ill health and grievances.
Delegates will gain an understanding of the legal issues, the actual (rather than perceived) risks that may arise from employment claims, how best to achieve the desired outcomes and minimise risk and what an employment tribunal would regard as a reasonable approach.
