He has also been appointed by the Law Society of Singapore as an Associate Mediator on its Panel of Mediators for the Law Society Mediation Scheme.

Ivan has been interviewed on radio and the national newspapers on matrimonial practice and the law as well as international media in relation to a contested adoption application by single homosexual father involving surrogacy that eventually succeeded on appeal in a landmark decision.

Ivan is an active volunteer at the Law Society Family Legal Clinic in the Family Justice Court and is also a Family Law Practice facilitator with the Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE) where he teaches Matrimonial and Family law to law graduates who are undergoing their mandatory training before they can be called to the Singapore Bar.
