Practice notes

Wei Yi is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Management Practice Group.

Her main areas of expertise are in commercial litigation involving issues of contract, directors’ duties, shareholders’ disputes, banking law, negligence, defamation, employment, breach of trust and collective sales.  She has acted for Singapore’s first integrated resort and provides regular advice on Singapore’s complex gaming and casino regulatory framework. Her experience also includes non-contentious aspects of advisory work pertaining to club regulations and constitutions, statutory regulations, employment matters, commercial contracts and lease agreements.

Some notable work highlights include having successfully defended former shareholders and directors of Raffles Town Club in a suit in the High Court and the Court of Appeal, acting for former clients of David Rasif & Partners in the recovery of misappropriated monies and acting for the Sales Committee in the collective sale dispute of the development Airview Towers.

She is actively involved in the Law Society of Singapore as a member of the Law Awareness Committee and is a volunteer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme. She also tutors for the Preparatory Course leading to Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations, conducted by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE).

Wei Yi was called to the Singapore Bar in 2007.
