Practice notes

Valencia is an Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Management Team in Singapore. She handles a broad range of legal work, from civil and commercial dispute resolution to corporate and advisory work. She has also handled matrimonial and criminal matters in the course of her practice.

Her recent experience includes: acting for an association in civil proceedings involving the interpretation of its constitution; representing a defendant individual in resisting an application for sale in lieu of partition of a property; and acting for an appellant in divorce proceedings involving assets worth more than S$15 million.

She is also involved in a variety of corporate matters, including the preparation of agreements relating to: sale & purchase, marketing, agency, licensing, indemnity and non-disclosure.

Valencia is a keen advocate of the Mediation process, which she believes is the preferred future of dispute resolution – a more accessible and inclusive platform to fairness and justice. She was awarded the 2nd prize for her essay titled “Mediation Advocacy: Doing Good, Doing Right, Doing Well” in the inaugural Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) Annual Mediation Essay Competition, and was published in the SIMI’s first book titled “Contemporary Issues in Mediation Volume 1”. Valencia also participated in the Global Pound Conference Series (Singapore 2016), the inaugural conference by the International Mediation Institute.

Valencia is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law and the Law Society of Singapore.
