Proceedings before the Competition Authority in Consumer Cases from the Bank’s Perspective

A seminar entitled “Proceedings before the Competition Authority in Consumer Cases from the Bank’s Perspective” will be held on 15 May 2013 at the Mercure Warsaw Centrum Hotel. The event is organized by Instytut Szkoleń Prawa Bankowego.

The seminar will include a discussion of such issues as:

  • Proceedings before the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK)
  • Injunctive decisions in UOKiK proceedings—theory and practice
  • Decisions by the President of UOKiK—consequences and risks
  • Judicial proceedings on appeal from decisions by the President of UOKiK
  • Proceedings for holding contractual provisions to be impermissible
  • The nature of judicial review of form contracts—scope of review
  • Grounds for holding provisions of standard bank agreements to be abusive under the current case law of the Court of Competition and Consumer Protection
  • Effect of legally final judgment—risks for businesses
