Biometric Summit: Aspects of Identity Authentication  

A conference entitled “Biometric Summit: Aspects of Identity Authentication” will be held in Warsaw on 10 September 2015. Wierzbowski Eversheds is one of the knowledge partners of the event. 

Participants will learn how to take full advantage of increasingly common biometric systems. The issues to be discussed will include:
• Legal conditions for use of biometrics, including for employee monitoring
• Trends and prospects for growth of biometrics in Poland 
• Analysis of practices in other countries 
• Examples of implemented biometric solutions
• Systems for biometric authentication and identification
• VoiceBanking and modern biometric technologies 
• Security of biometric technologies
One of the speakers will be Dr Arwid Mednis, who will give a presentation devoted to legal aspects of biometrics, covering issues of protection of biometric data as personal data, problems with using biometrics in identification documents, and threats to the privacy of users arising from use of biometric data without their knowledge.
The event is designed for upper-level managers in financial institutions, the uniformed services, mobile phone operators, in-house lawyers, and members of corporate security and IT departments.
In addition to Wierzbowski Eversheds, the knowledge partners for the event are Koźmiński University and Bank BPS. The Ministry of Economy serves as the honorary patron of the event.
