REMIT and Abuses on the Wholesale Energy Market

 

A conference entitled “REMIT and Abuses on the Wholesale Energy Market” will be held in Warsaw on 16–17 September 2015. The scheduled speakers include Łukasz Jankowski and Jakub Kasnowski.
Among the issues to be discussed during the workshop:
The influence of REMIT (the EU’s Regulation on Wholesale Energy Markets Integrity and Transparency) on the integrity of the wholesale energy market
Duties of participants in the wholesale energy market pursuant to REMIT
Reporting of transactional data to ACER (the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators)
Sanctions for enterprises failing to comply with the new standards.
Łukasz Jankowski, manager of the energy practice at Wierzbowski Eversheds, and Jakub Kasnowski, an attorney at law from the same department, will give a presentation entitled “Exchange Information Platform: A Tool for Improving the Transparency of the Energy Market.” 
In their presentation they will discuss such issues as: 
The main part of Poland’s Exchange Information Platform (GPI)
Issues of fundamental transaction data under REMIT
The nature of fundamental data and the future status of the Exchange Information Platform.
The workshop is designed primarily for energy companies—electricity and gas producers, trading companies, distribution companies, balancing service providers—and any other entities interested in issues of the wholesale energy market.
