We advised on financing project to complete construction of the second Metro line in Warsaw

  • Poland

    15-05-2013

Our law firm advised the City of Warsaw on a project to obtain PLN 1 bn (EUR 238 m) financing from the European Investment Bank to complete construction of the central section of the second Metro line.

That section will consist of seven stations and connect the left and right-bank Warsaw. The project, which is currently underway, should be completed in 2014/2015.

The Wierzbowski Eversheds project team was led by Marek Czarny supported by the Agata Jankowska-Galińska and Tomasz Balawajder from banking & finance team.

This is another example of a project for obtaining financing for development of urban infrastructure in Poland. With our assistance, the Warsaw tram authority obtained loans to implement its strategic development plans and the Warsaw water and sewer authority raised funding for such project as construction of the Czajka wastewater treatment plant.
