Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland invites participants to register for the next event in the law firm’s SHINE program (Sharing In-House Expertise) for in-house lawyers. The event on 8 March 2018 entitled “Women and Technology” is designed exclusively for women lawyers.
Why is the event worth taking part in?
In recent years we have witnessed the changing role of in-house lawyers. The heads of corporate legal departments are no longer just legal advisers, but also business consultants for management boards and key divisions in the company, handling every day not only legal issues, but also strategic solutions, management and compliance.
In reality, doing business means concentration on a mix of values and hard priorities. It requires fluid and dynamic adjustment to the needs of the market, and in its most advanced form, creation of those needs. Business also means dynamically evolving roles and demands from various functions, including the legal function. Business is a merger of strategy, operations, tactics, and leadership potential.
The process of digital transformation has become not just a “nice to have,” but a necessity for the entire enterprise. Technology implemented at the right time and in the right manner provides a powerful tool whose potential can and should be exploited.
Why shouldn’t lawyers of today make effective use of the IT solutions available on the market that can dramatically facilitate their work? The presenters at the workshop will discuss the possibilities for well-managed digital transformation of the legal function and explain how much it can contribute to the working environment.
Topics discussed
- What are the fundamental business aims and models for contributing to the business by the in-house legal function?
- How can women lawyers in particular not only freely navigate in this environment but also generate real added value?
- How to exploit corporate strategies and key pillars of operations of companies and corporate groups to build a competitive advantage for lawyers?
- We will discuss tech solutions, showing how they work in practice and how they can contribute to the success of in-house lawyers.
