Eversheds Sutherland Poland is one of the partners of the VII Scientific Conference “Energy Security – Pillars and Development Perspective”, organized by the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Institute for Energy Policy in cooperation with the Rzeszów University of Technology. Our experts from the Governments & Energy team have been invited to join the panellists. The conference will be held on 12-13 September in Rzeszów.

One of the main themes of this year's discussions will be an assessment of the energy security of the countries on NATO's eastern flank in the context of Russian Federation policy and an analysis of the changes taking place in global energy policy as a result of the war in Ukraine. The debate will focus on energy transition, nuclear power, hydrogen, renewable energy and low-carbon sources of energy production. During the conference, the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Award in the field of energy security will be presented and the second edition of the Competition for the Most Innovative Energy in Local Government will be adjudicated.

The conference will be attended by the lawyers from the Governments & Energy team: Michał Drozdowicz, attorney-at-law, Partner heading the practice, and Grzegorz Cieśniarski, attorney-at-law, Senior Associate in the Governments & Energy team. Our experts will be panellists in two debates.

Partner Michał Drozdowicz will take part in a panel discussion on current challenges to energy security. Senior Associate Grzegorz Cieśniarski will take part in a debate on power grids and the challenges facing participants in the energy transmission and distribution market – Eversheds Sutherland Poland is a partner of this particular panel. Both panels will take place on 13 September.
