5th Aviation Market Congress summarized the condition and outlook on the aviation industry in Poland

The 5th Aviation Market Congress was held on 9 September 2022 at the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw. Eversheds Sutherland Poland was an exclusive legal partner of this year's edition. The congress was attended by more than 200 representatives of the aviation sector from Poland and abroad.

The main themes discussed during the congress were the market recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic and the challenges facing aviation in connection with the war in Ukraine. There was also a discussion about current trends in aviation, as well as the industry's 'Fit for 55' climate targets.

Representatives of passenger and cargo airlines, international organizations, regional airports, aviation-related service providers, TOR Consultants Group experts, representatives of universities and the Civil Aviation Authority (ULC) discussed the process of adapting the market to the changing reality and the challenges that await in the future.

Passenger relations and measures aimed at increasing passenger satisfaction with airline services were also among the discussed topics. As Eversheds Sutherland Poland has extensive experience in advising on passenger claims, Maciej Jóźwiak (partner heading the Dispute Resolution practice and the aviation sector practice) presented his insights and conclusions, which were well received by the panelists.

All speakers were highly optimistic about the passenger traffic recovery process after the COVID-19 pandemic, while remaining moderately optimistic about the future of the market.

During the congress LOT Polish Airlines officially signed a declaration of joining the IATA Environmental Assessment Programme (IEnvA), which aims to increase the efficiency of the airline's management of environmental factors. It is the first carrier from the region to join the programme.
