We are pleased to announce that Marta Gadomska-Gołąb and Dr Aleksandra Kunkiel-Kryńska, who co-head the firm’s Consumer, Regulatory & Life Sciences practice, have been appointed as mediators and conciliators at the Center for Amicable Resolution of Food Disputes.
The mediators were elected by unanimous resolution on 20 September 2018.
Marta Gadomska-Gołąb specializes in regulatory issues connected with product safety and civil matters connected with trading in products, particularly in dealings with consumers. She also practices pharmaceutical and food law, product liability, and advertising law, including advertising of regulated products. She has 13 years of experience providing legal advice to businesses. She works for leading companies from the sectors of pharmaceuticals, food, FMCG, home appliances and electronics, clothing and furniture.
Dr Aleksandra Kunkiel-Kryńska specializes in consumer law. She has extensive experience advising Polish and foreign companies from the sectors of electronics, home appliances, food, FMCG, textiles, furniture and cosmetics. For over a decade she has worked for leading manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers, providing comprehensive legal advice across the field of consumer law, including product safety, consumer claims, warranties, contract law and advertising law.
The Center for Amicable Resolution of Food Disputes , functioning at the Polish Federation of Food Industry employers’ union (PFPŻ ZP), was established to provide quick, independent and impartial out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes involving food. The center is the first private institution dedicated to amicable resolution of disputes involving the commercial quality and labeling of food products, disputes arising out promotional competitions and lotteries, and food-related communications with consumers.
The individuals conducting proceedings at the center have high qualifications and experience in resolving consumer disputes, as well as an outstanding knowledge of food law. The center also enables the use of opinions from independent experts.
There is no fee for filing of a request by a consumer for consideration of a dispute, and the resolution of the dispute is not binding. If consumers believe that a matter should be resolved in court, they have that option as the limitations period does not run until the mediation is completed. Use of the dispute resolution services of the center is convenient, as the whole procedure may be conducted online.
The Center for Amicable Resolution of Food Disputes is entered in the register of institutions authorized to conduct alternative resolution of consumer disputes, maintained by the president of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. It is also listed as an ADR institution by the European Commission and registered on the online dispute resolution platform operated by the Commission.
More information about the center and a full list of mediators and conciliators are available at www.cprsz.pl
