Experience

Łukasz Jankowski is an attorney at law and a partner, heading the energy law team at Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland.
He specializes in energy law, with a particular emphasis on the electricity and natural gas markets.
He has many years of experience providing legal advice for the energy sector. Among other positions, he previously served as head of legal services at RWE (now Innogy). He has implemented a number of projects for trading companies and distribution system operators, including infrastructure proceedings and regulatory proceedings before the Court of Competition and Consumer Protection. He has conducted regulatory cases at all instances, from administrative proceedings before the president of the Energy Regulatory Office and the president of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, to representing power companies before the Supreme Court of Poland.
Łukasz supports clients in regulatory matters, including concessions, tariffs, and cases regarding fines imposed by the president of the Energy Regulatory Office. He advises leading companies in regulated industries on such European regulatory regimes as REMIT, MiFID II, EMiR, MAD and MAR. He has extensive experience in implementing MiFID II on the energy market. In 2017 he participated in a pioneering implementation project for a key player in the electricity and natural gas markets.
